Kiriko Takemura (born January 29, 1993), known professionally as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, is a Japanese model, singer, and blogger. Her public image is associated with Japan's kawaisa and decora culture, centered in Tokyo's Harajuku neighborhood of [2]. Her music is produced by musician Yasutaka Nakata of electronic music duo Capsule. Pamyu Pamyu is well known for her 2011 single, "PonPonPon", which reached top ten on Japan's Oricon music chart. Her 2012 singles "Candy Candy" and "Fashion Monster" were similarly successful. She has since released four full-length albums: Pamyu Pamyu Revolution (2012) Nanda Collection (2013), which features the single "Ninja Re Bang Bang", Pika Pika Fantajin (2014), which contains the songs "Kira Kira Killer" and "Koi Koi Koi", and Japamyu (2018). Though most of Pamyu Pamyu's musical success has been in Asia, she has also gained popularity in Western countries due in part to viral Internet videos. Media outlets have referred to Kyary as the "Harajuku Pop Princess", and she has been photographed for magazines such as Dazed[3].
